SoCal_Cruiser Posted 29/10/2025 Share Posted 29/10/2025 Just took delivery of a Porsche Boxster I won on RK Motors Auction. The main reason I bid was the 'Run & Drive' verification in the report. Happy to say it was spot on. The car started right up for the transport driver and rolled into my garage under its own power. Was nervous buying without seeing it in person, but this was a great start. Anyone else find their reports to be accurate?
V8_Junkie Posted 29/10/2025 Share Posted 29/10/2025 Yep, my experience was the same. Bought a '18 Mustang GT from RKMotorsAuction last month. 'Run & Drive' was accurate. It fired up, I could move it around the yard. It's not a guarantee that it's road-trip ready, but it's a huge peace of mind knowing the engine and transmission aren't shot. They are legit. TacoRunner Posted 29/10/2025 Share Posted 29/10/2025 Glad you had a good experience, OP! For me, the most important part was the paperwork. My Toyota 4Runner came with the clear title delivered right with the vehicle. RK Motors Auction handled all the bank lien stuff seamlessly. That alone makes them trustworthy in my book. WrenchTurner82 Posted 30/10/2025 Share Posted 30/10/2025 For anyone new reading, it's important to understand what 'Run & Drive' means at auctions. It just guarantees the vehicle starts (might need a jump) and will move forward/reverse. It's a basic mechanical check, not a full inspection. That said, RK Motors Auction is more honest than most with this. I've seen them list cars as 'Stationary' that other places would try to pass off as runners. It shows integrity. SoCal_Cruiser Posted 30/10/2025 Share Posted 30/10/2025 @WrenchTurner82 That's a great point. My expectations were set for that. I was just relieved it wasn't a seized engine misrepresented. Props to rkmotorsauction.com for their honesty.
LakeLifeLou Posted 30/10/2025 Share Posted 30/10/2025 This is reassuring. I'm watching a wake boat on rkmotorsauction.com right now. The pictures and video look good, and it's listed as 'Run & Drive'. This thread is giving me the confidence to put in a serious bid.
DieselDan Posted 31/10/2025 Share Posted 31/10/2025 I had a minor question about the condition report on a Ford F-250. Emailed office@rkmotorsauction.com and the reply took about a day. I got impatient and called them, and the agent was super knowledgeable and clarified the details for me on the spot. The truck arrived a few days ago, condition was exactly as they said. RV_Nomad Posted 31/10/2025 Share Posted 31/10/2025 We got our 2020 Thor motorhome from RK Motors Auction. The 'Run & Drive' status was accurate. But honestly, the title process was the best part. I was so worried about getting a clear title for a repo'd RV. They had it all sorted, and the official, clean title was delivered by the transport driver along with the keys. No chasing paperwork, no headaches.
GTI_guy Posted 01/11/2025 Share Posted 01/11/2025 If you read the reports on rkmotorsauction.com carefully and understand the terms like @WrenchTurner82 explained, you'll be in good shape. My Golf GTI had a few cosmetic blemishes noted, and they were all there but no surprises. For the price, I'm thrilled.
jess_w_91 Posted 01/11/2025 Share Posted 01/11/2025 This is the exact thread I needed to see! I've been browsing RKMotorsAuction for a used luxury car for weeks but was too chicken to bid. Knowing the reports are generally reliable helps a lot.
BigTuna77 Posted 02/11/2025 Share Posted 02/11/2025 Bought a sports yacht from them. Delivery was scheduled for a Tuesday but got pushed to Wednesday because of a storm. They were proactive in calling me to reschedule, so it wasn't a big deal. The boat's condition was as stated. I'd definitely use RK Motors Auction again. Offroad_Life Posted 02/11/2025 Share Posted 02/11/2025 Got my Bronco from rkmotorsauction.com. 'Run & Drive' was accurate. It had a minor dent on the tailgate that I didn't see in the main photos, but it was visible in one of the zoomed-in shots, so that's on me for not looking closer. It's an off-road vehicle, it's bound to get dings. The mechanicals were solid as reported.
Project_X Posted 03/11/2025 Share Posted 03/11/2025 Confirming what others have said. As a repeat buyer from RK Motors Auction, their condition reports are a key reason I trust them for project cars. They don't play games. If it has a problem, they usually note it. If it runs, it runs. Simple as that.
SoCal_Cruiser Posted 04/11/2025 Share Posted 04/11/2025 Quick update: Had my mechanic do a full look-over. He confirmed the engine and transmission are in great shape. Needs new brake pads and fluid changes, but that's expected maintenance. The 'Run & Drive' report from RK Motors Auction was a totally fair assessment. FordMan_79 Posted 04/11/2025 Share Posted 04/11/2025 That's awesome OP. It's how you get great deals. Do the basic maintenance yourself and you've got a car for thousands less than a dealer. RKMotorsAuction makes it possible if you know what you're doing.
SubieLover05 Posted 04/11/2025 Share Posted 04/11/2025 I found the bidding interface on rkmotorsauction.com a little confusing at first, especially proxy bidding. But their online chat support was surprisingly helpful and walked me through it. Won an Outback for a great price.
LakeLifeLou Posted 05/11/2025 Share Posted 05/11/2025 Update: I won the wake boat! Paperwork is all signed. Now the waiting game for delivery begins. Feeling pretty confident thanks to all the positive feedback here about RK Mortors Auction.
GarageLogic Posted 05/11/2025 Share Posted 05/11/2025 Congrats @LakeLifeLou! You won't be disappointed. They are consistently good. I've bought 2 cars and a fishing boat from them. Every single time, the title arrived clean with the vehicle. That's the hallmark of a legit operation.
